Let's talk about your goals.
No commitment. No pitch. Tell us what you're working on, and we'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit or who might be.
WEFT & WHETSTONE
Software Solutions & Strategy • Baltimore, Maryland
A software solutions firm based in Baltimore, led by operators who build solutions themselves, not just talk about it. We build products and hold leadership seats for startups, small businesses, and software teams scaling without over-hiring. We bring honest skepticism and cross-industry pattern recognition to every engagement.
Operator-led, by design
We lead every engagement and set the quality standard.
Breadth as a strategy
Most firms go deep in one vertical. We go diagonal: the pattern that solves your problem was usually proven somewhere you'd never think to look.
Honest skepticism
We help clients who can't easily evaluate a technology proposal on their own. That means telling you when something (often AI) isn't what you need.
We scope before we quote, and we're honest when we're not the right fit.
Fractional Leadership & Management
The authority and accountability of a full-time executive, without the full-time overhead. COO, CTO, and Director-level leadership, embedded part time.
- Typical length: 3-12 months, renewable
- Commitment: 1-3 days per week depending on scope
- Includes: contract management, proposal services, screening services
- Best for: organizations between executive hires, or those who need the capacity without the full-time cost
Software Development Services
Product development and product management for teams that need to ship. Senior engineering and product leadership, not a staffing pool.
- Includes: process design & improvement
- Quoted per project or on a time-and-materials basis
- Deliverables defined and agreed before work begins
- Best for: teams that know what needs to be built and need senior engineering and product leadership to build it
Planning & Management
Product and project management for software initiatives: setting the roadmap, planning the work, and keeping cross-functional delivery on track.
- Includes: program & project management, product roadmapping
- Typical length: ongoing or scoped to a release cycle
- Best for: teams shipping software who need the planning and coordination discipline, not just the engineering
Get Started
The lowest-commitment way to start working with us: AI Adoption & Training, Process Documentation, and Assessments & Evaluations.
- AI Adoption & Training: practical adoption and training for teams deciding what to actually use
- Process Documentation: capturing how a process actually works, including the domain knowledge that never made it into a written record
- Assessments & Evaluations: assessment across accessibility, security, and policy, plus audit management including SOC 2
- Typically a fixed-scope engagement with a defined deliverable
